LEDBURY FC earned their first win since September with a convincing 4-2 victory against a lacklustre Clee Hill United side.
Three goals in the second half sealed the game and gave the home side their third win of the season.
Ian Merrick's side looked strong from the outset, moving the ball around with a purpose that has been sadly lacking this season.
The home side had an early chance to go in front as Dean Lewis' free kick found midfielder Sam Webb, whose header narrowly skirted over the bar.
Ledbury looked dangerous from the wide areas with Lewis delivering a great ball off the right which Lewis Williams was unable to direct towards the bottom corner as it fell just wide of the left post.
Clee Hill worked the ball nicely at times and should have opened the scoring as Josh Bowen's powerful effort smashed off the inside of the post.
The visitors started slow but worked their way into the game, and were rewarded as Euan Morgan's superb ball caught the Ledbury defence out. Bowen was there to dink the ball over the oncoming Archie Hughes to give Clee Hill the lead.
The lead was short-lived, Craig Howell picked the ball up and unleashed a powerful effort from 30 yards out which curled past goalkeeper Scott Jordan into the top left-hand corner, giving the home side a deserved equaliser.
It looked like the momentum had shifted before the half, as the visitors again restored their one-goal advantage. Bowen controlled a lofted ball into his feet, rolled his man and fired the ball into the roof of the net to grab his second of the match.
A quick start to the second half by Ledbury saw Ince through on goal with only the keeper to beat, but the home fans were left in disbelief as he dragged his shot wide of the left post.
A minute later the away side nearly doubled their advantage. Ramzi Kilicaslan controlled a throw-in and cut inside, his shot fell just wide of the right post.
The home side then found a way back into the match, a great run from Bowen, from inside his own half found Dean Lee whose curled effort nestled into goal past the outstretched arm of Jordan.
Ledbury started to dominate play and were duly rewarded with the most unlikely of goals. Bowen's whipped delivery from a corner caught a scrabbling Jordan out at his near post, giving the home side a much deserved lead.
Clee Hill were again punished a few minutes later. Nathan Ince doubled Ledbury's advantage to make certain of the points.
The chances kept coming for the home side. Clee Hill looked loose in possession; substitute Harry Phillips played through Ince who took the ball round the keeper, but fired his opportunity into the side netting.
A strong performance from Ledbury who now move up to 10th in the league, will give them confidence as they travel to 14th placed Welland next Saturday (December 7).
