BROMYARD TOWN defeated Ledbury FC 3-2 in their HFA Premier Division clash, as Ledbury's search for a win goes on.

Bromyard found a winner late on as Curt Townley found Ben Cowlishaw whose guided finish crushed Ledbury's hopes of securing a much needed point.

Ian Merrick's side were clinical in front of goal, and looked to have secured an impressive point before Bromyard scored. The loss extends Ledbury's streak to six games without a win.

The game started with both sides sharing the ball, Ledbury's Nathan Ince was unable to connect with a cross, and Bromyard's Nate Bowen was unable to make a clean connection with his effort.

Midway through the half, the visitors made the breakthrough as Jack Griffith-Perry's powerful volley gave Bromyard the lead.

Griffith-Perry caused problems for the Ledbury defence and looked the most dangerous going forward, as he fired another shot goalwards, but was unable to find the net on that occasion.

Ledbury absorbed Bromyard's pressure well, and found themselves back on level terms, as Tom Boyle's spilled cross gave Ince a tap in to give the home supporters hope going into the half-time break.

The second started much like the first with both teams having chances, but it was Bromyard who struck first as Griffith-Perry again found space on the left and found the net for his second of the game.

Ledbury responded well and levelled the match again. Boyle's cross found Ince, who headed it in for his second of the match.

The visitors then dominated most of the possession as they pushed for a winner, but Ledbury's defence stood resolute and held off a flurry of Bromyard chances.

Griffith-Perry continued to be a thorn in the Ledbury defence as his low shot from the left side of the box narrowly strayed wide of the post.

As the match wore-on it looked destined to end in stalemate. Ledbury continued to defend doggedly, as Bromyard struggled to find a way through.

Ledbury were unlucky not snatch a goal themselves, with a quick counter seeing Ince's powerful strike saved by the Bromyard keeper.

Despite Ledbury's strong defensive display, it ended in despair again for the home team. Curt Townley's ball found Cowlinshaw, who provided a guided finish, ending Ledbury's hopes of a result from the match.

The score line nearly got worse for the home side as Matt Patrick-Rivers beat his man and cut the ball back to Callum Kinsella, whose effort skated just wide of the right post.

The result left Ledbury and their supporters wondering what might have been, as the home side slip to 12th in the division.

Ledbury play next away at Kington Town on Saturday, November 23.
