TOM Boyle's second-half strike ensured Ledbury Town remained top of the league thanks to a 2-1 win at Worcester United on Wednesday night.
Having beaten title rivals Sporting Club Inkberrow on Saturday, Ledbury went into the clash knowing they were three wins away from lifting the Herefordshire FA Football League Premier trophy.
Josh Burns had put Ledbury ahead in the first-half but the hosts equalised from the spot to apply some pressure on Ian Merrick's side
But top goalscorer and the ever-reliable Boyle proved to be the match winnner as he netted in the second-half to secure a vital three points.
Inkberrow won 3-1 vs Coppertops at the same time so the league's top two sides remain separated by a single point.
There are two games of the season remaining and Ledbury welcome Welland to New Street on Saturday, before Inkberrow host Worcester on Tuesday night, where a defeat would hand Ledbury the championship.
