KINGSLAND farmer John Price should be given a medal for the work he did maintaining the river, which used to happen all the time but now we have all these do-gooders running things (Rebel’s action: your views, July 4).

I wouldn’t be surprised if the 86 per cent who said his actions were wrong live nowhere near a river and know nothing about maintaining them.

This country has gone to the dogs because we have people running it who want to fix things that don’t need fixing. Let’s just blame global warming which is a natural thing the planet has gone through for decades.

Maybe someday we’ll have someone with the guts to say enough is enough, we have to go back to how things used to be done.

Well done, Mr Price.
