A GRADE II listed pub on one of Ledbury’s most historic lanes was painted bright pink in the early hours of this morning.
Manager Les Smith arrived at the Prince of Wales, in Church Lane, to find the formerly black and white timbered building had been covered by mystery painters.
An early morning cleaner had become suspicious when seeing two men, clad in white, paper suits and wearing dust masks, appeared to be working on the pub.
Mr Smith said: “Somebody told us it was about 6.3am this morning.
“I walked around and looked at the other side, and that was pink as well.”
Drinkers in the pub have been reacting with good humour to the sudden change in style.
“They said ‘you haven’t made a very good job of it Les’,” he added.
