Every year, John Masefield High School performs a musical towards the end of November, which has proved to be a huge success.

This year, the musical will be the highly-rated and popular High School Musical, and I am lucky enough to be part of the band.

In the middle of September the rehearsals began, and so far everyone has really enjoyed it. Each song brings its own unique element of fun that a wide range of audiences could relate to; therefore this musical would be well worth a visit. Everyone involved in the musical has put a lot of time and effort into the rehearsals to ensure an enjoyable and professional performance.

The rehearsals have been going really well and it makes us feel very positive about ourselves when we are finally able to play a certain part of a piece of music that we have been struggling with for some time.

I feel that being part of a production like this really boosts self-esteem as well as having a lot of fun and getting to know more people from school that you previously did not know.

Opening night is looming and I am confident that all efforts will pay off!
