A DRIVER caught out in Herefordshire while over the alcohol limit has been banned from the roads.
Mihail Babasa, of Chilton Square, Hereford, appeared before magistrates on October 22 after entering a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the alcohol limit, one count of using a motor vehicle on a road without insurance and one count of failing to surrender to court bail at the appointed time.
The court heard from prosecuting solicitor Thomas Wickstead that the 23-year-old was caught on the A4103 in Bartestree after getting behind the wheel of a Volkswagen car while over the alcohol limit on August 4.
An evidential breath test revealed that Babasa, who was represented at the hearing by defence solicitor Katherine Maynereid, had 43 microgrammes (mg) of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the limit of 35 mg.
He also did not have valid third party insurance at the time.

Babasa was disqualified from driving for 12 months and fined £530. He must also pay court costs of £85 and a £212 victim surcharge.
Magistrates in Kidderminster said that they had taken his guilty pleas into account when imposing the penalty.
He was further prosecuted for failing to turn up to an earlier court date, but no separate penalty was given.
