BUS services in Worcester are to receive their biggest boost in over a decade.

Starting in January some bus routes in and around the city will have increased services including on Sundays and later on in the evenings.

According to Worcestershire County Council this will be the biggest set of timetable improvements in ten years.

Full list of improvements to bus services staring on January 5:

- First Bus 30: New later evening trips, last bus on Mondays to Saturdays at 11.10pm. New early morning trip on Mondays to Fridays at 5.55am. First and last trips on Sundays now earlier/later than present.

- First Bus 34: New hourly Sunday service and new 6.40pm trip on Saturdays.

- First Bus 35: New later evening trips, last bus on Mondays to Saturday at 11.10pm, Sunday at 7.10pm. New early morning trips, first bus on Monday to Friday at 05.20am, Saturday 6.05am and Sunday at 7.30am.

-First Bus 44/X44: New hourly Sunday service. New later evening trips introduced, last bus on Mondays to Saturdays from Worcester at 8.25pm, Great Malvern 9.15pm.

- First Bus X50: Doubling of frequency to every 30 minutes on Mondays to Saturdays. Route extended to Evesham on Sundays. New early morning and evening trips introduced on all days.

A lack of bus services is one reason that parking at Worcestershire Parkway is 'near capacity'.

In addition to these enhancements, from January 2025 First Bus will operate the Droitwich services.

This will enable residents from Claines, Fernhill Heath, Chawson and Primsland to benefit from better cross-town links to the employment sites in Droitwich.

Residents of Primsland will see frequency enhancements for using the new 19 and 157 services Monday through to Saturday into town, alongside additional peak time trips on the 20 service.
