A PUB in a Worcestershire village has closed its doors after the landlord died.
Matt Fisher, the owner of The Royal Oak in Broadwas, died at the age of 42.
He had run the pub for the last 13 years and The Royal Oak is currently closed due to 'legal circumstances'.
Staff at The Royal Oak announced the news on Facebook and have since received an outpouring of condolences and support from the community.
In the post, the pub said: "It has been a very difficult few days and with deep regret we have to inform you that the owner of The Royal Oak Broadwas, Matt Fisher, sadly passed away on Wednesday 20th November at the age of just 42.
"He has owned this pub for the last 13 years and with his hard work he has developed it into a popular eatery, which is also known for its ultimate carvery.
"As you can imagine this is a very upsetting time for all the family, friends and staff.
"The pub will be closed due to this devastating news for people to grieve and take the time to digest what has happened and what will be the next steps for the pub.
"At this moment in time we are unable to resume trading due to legal circumstances taken out of our hands.
"In light of this situation we regretfully have to cancel tables booked in with us within the next few days, and then take time to assess the situation as to where we go from here.
"Please understand this is a very upsetting time for us and we will do our best to be in touch with bookings and what will happen next."
In only a few hours the post received more than 300 comments with people offering their condolences.
Kim Caines said: "This is just so sad, I've known Matt from when he was a chef at the March Hare back in 2007 then followed him to the pub by Drakes Broughton and then again to Broadwas.
"We always went for Sunday lunch when my dad was over from Canada who was also a chef and Matt always had a good chat with him, he will be so missed by everyone who knew him.
"Thinking of all his family and his staff at this difficult time."
Scott Clarke said: "So sad, top bloke, amazing chef, best carvery around from March Hare, Plough and oak.
"Thinking of family, friends and followers at such a devastating time."
