A LORRY driver caught breaking the law behind the wheel of a Scania heavy goods vehicle (HGV) in Herefordshire has been banned.
Lee Gibbons entered a guilty plea to one count of driving a vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit when he appeared before magistrates last month.
The court heard from prosecuting solicitor Lauren Millichip that the 50-year-old had been caught out on July 10 on Herefordshire's A417 at Newtown Cross while behind the wheel of a black Scania HGV.
He was found to have 550 microgrammes (mg) of benzoylecgonine in his blood. The limit is 50 mg.

Gibbons, of Haywood Lane, Callow, was banned from driving for two years and handed an £833 fine.
Gibbons was also ordered to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £85.
Hereford magistrates said his guilty plea was taken into account when they came to a decision on a penalty for the offence.
