A SEARCH for a high-risk missing teenage girl saw police scour the Malvern Hills at night.
Officers from the Malvern Response and Neighbourhood officers were searching for a high-risk 16-year-old missing girl in Malvern last night (Wednesday, November 6).
The youngster has now been found safe and well.
She was a keen walker up on the Malvern Hills and there were several areas that she was known to visit frequently.
Police said visibility on top of the hills was extremely poor.
A spokesperson for Malvern Police said: "It was down to officers having a good knowledge of the hills that allowed them to carry out a safe and systematic search.
"She has now been located safe and well.
"We received some negative comments recently from a recent social media post of officers carrying out reassurance patrols on the hills.
"These patrols are carried out by neighbourhood officers and not by response officers.
"Our neighbourhood officers being able to get familiar with the various routes and paths on the hills, means that we can respond to high-risk incidents such as this safely, systematically and quickly."
