This year’s Carnival Association AGM is due to take place on Wednesday November 13, beginning at 7pm at the Methodist Church in Bye Street.
The meeting will review the most recent Carnival year and accept the accounts.
This will be followed by the Election of new officers and committee members.
With the loss of a number of Committee members this year, it is hoped people will step forward to help with future planning of next year, and future carnivals in the town.
A number of specific roles will need to be covered including that of stalls manager and fund-raising as well as supporting members of the committee to help with the day to day organisation and planning for our 2025 Carnival.
The Chairman will be able to report on a successful year with wonderful financial support from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund for Festivals and Events, Community Funding from Tesco, One Stop and the Co-op, plus support from Ledbury Town Council, local businesses and organisations.
Meeting just once a month from January to June, and twice monthly during July and August, meetings are friendly and fun with support available if needed.
If you are interested in helping the organisation in any way possible, or wish to find out more please attend the meeting or email contact-us@ledbury-carnival.co.uk for further information.
The meeting will also discuss possible ‘themes’ for next year’s event though this is unlikely to be confirmed until the January meeting.
Janet Meredith, one of the carnival organisers said: “The 2024 Carnival was considered a great success and it is hoped to build on the hard work of the post-covid years but this is only possible if there are sufficient volunteers available to complete the task.”
