The council's longest-serving councillor is in hospital after having her leg amputated.
Wyre Forest District Council said Councillor Fran Oborski, who represents Offmore and Comberton, is recovering at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, following an operation last week.
Councillor Oborski has been representing her local community for more than 50 years and is said to be in "good spirits" with her mind still on council business.
Fellow Liberal Democrat and ward member for Offmore and Comberton, councillor Shazu Miah, said: "Fran is doing well, she is in good spirits and her mind is still very much on council business.
"Whenever I speak to her she is asking me about Offmore and Comberton and the wider district and talking about our campaigns.
"She will be in hospital for a short time so myself and councillor Carroll will be picking up her ward work. We wish Fran a very speedy recovery."
Anyone in the Offmore and Comberton ward who would like to raise ward issues should contact councillor Shazu Miah or councillor Liam Carroll whilst councillor Oborski is in hospital.

Councillor John Byng, chairman of Wyre Forest District Council, added: "Fran is in the thoughts and prayers of everybody at the council.
"We hope that she continues with her recovery and with her determined spirit we know that she'll be back carrying out the full range of her duties as soon as she's possibly able."
