IN response to the negative review by Susanna Perkins of the rally held in Ledbury.

I totally disagree. It’s lovely to have something that’s exciting and gets the heart pumping.

READ: Susanna Perkins' opinion of the rally

If you are going to talk about trade being killed off by this why do we still have the mop fair?

This takes over for two full days and no one goes into town apart from children that can’t really afford to be there.

The council should look at bringing more events to Ledbury, like craft fairs and more farmers’ markets.

We are not a poor town and have a beautiful selection of independent shops so the more things we offer the more people come to see.

Just my opinion.

REGARDING the rally we have written to Gloucester Highways on this subject with no reply so far.

We live in Redmarley and were completely trapped by road closures.

We were denied access to our property for hours on the Sunday morning despite having an animal which needed attention.

Our property was trespassed upon and tapes were put across our gates.

We were subjected to excessive noise and pollution all day as cars used our local roads as a racetrack.

We were put in danger as an accident could easily have resulted in a car entering our or many other gardens.

The roads, already in poor condition, were damaged, resulting in the road outside our property becoming a large pothole.

Debris, including signs, excess straw, etc, was left behind. All of this is completely unacceptable.

There are private roads and areas where these events can take place — public roads should never be allowed.

This rally needs to be denied the ability to take place ever again on public roads.
