A FLOOD alert has been put in place which could cause chaos in Ledbury.
A flood alert has been issued for the River Leadon, with locations that could be affected including Ledbury, Much Marcle, Staunton and Tibberton.
A rare amber weather warning is in place in Herefordshire until 9pm today (Monday, September 23).
A Gov.uk alert, issued at 6.34am this morning said river levels remain high but are beginning to fall at the Wedderburn Bridge river gauge as a result of localised thunderstorms.
The floods are expected to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the River Leadon.
Water is over the road at Upleadon Court.
The statement added: "Further rainfall is forecast over the next couple of days.
"We are closely monitoring the situation. Our incident response staff are checking defences and liaising with emergency services and or Local Authorities.
"Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded."
