A vast array of affordable gifts, goodies and services offered will be available at the auction which takes place between 7-9pm on Saturday at the church.

Joy Conlon, administrator at All Saints there is something to suit everyone at the auction.

It is being held to raise money for church funds.

Promises being auctioned include a cream tea, mahjong lessons, gardening and a truck load of farmyard manure.

Joy said: "There is a superb community spirit in Coddington and the auction will have items to suit all pockets.

"Simply come along at 7pm and have a good time."

The hamlet of Coddington is to the east of Herefordshire, deriving its name from the Anglo Saxon word for a collection of mud cottages.

The houses are more substantial now, but the parish is still small with a population of about 120.

The church has a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Their regular services are Holy Communion and Matins, from the Book of Common Prayer, but from time to time during the year the church is used for Evensong, special services, concerts and other events. The benefice is shared with Colwall, so they have the same Rector and ministry team and the churchwardens form a local contact point.

To find All Saints follow the directions to St James and carry on until you come to a T-junction opposite Moorlands farm.

Turn right and follow this road for about a mile until you come to Coddington Cross. Turn left, sign posted Coddington, and carry on until the church comes into view.

The car park is on a little lane beyond the church to the left.
