A SEX offender has been up before the magistrates after failing to tell police that he was homeless.

Damien Kozlowski entered a guilty plea to one count of failing to comply with the notification requirements of the sex offenders register when he appeared before magistrates in Kidderminster.

The 39-year-old had been ordered to sign the register under the terms of section 80 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003, which requires him to notify the police weekly, said prosecutor Kathleen Price.

Kozlowski, who was represented in court by defence solicitor Mark Turnbull, was remanded on unconditional bail to appear in court again on September 29 in Hereford.

A pre-sentence report has been ordered to be prepared by the probation service ahead of his next hearing, when he is to be sentenced for the offence.
