A Ledbury care home has raised hundreds of pounds for a charity holding education sessions for children and adults with motor and movement disorders.

Deer Park Care Home, located on Martins Lane, collected £375 for Megan Baker House.

The home is a purpose-built facility that offers 24-hour residential, nursing, dementia and respite care.

The home hosted a community barbecue, complete with a cocktail bar and steelpan music.

The event was attended by residents, their family members, and the community, many of whom even got dancing to the music in the garden.

The development director at Megan Baker House said: "Megan Baker House is entirely self-funding, with no statutory or government grants and support of this nature from the community means a great deal to us.

"Every penny we raise goes into delivery of the life changing sessions we provide for many families across the two counties and beyond."

Home manager, Anna Satora, said: "Charity events like this one are so important to everybody here at Deer Park.

"We are so passionate about the incredible work that Megan Baker House does in Ledbury and couldn’t be happier to support such a vital cause."
