SUCCESS was on the timetable for Newent Community School Sixth Form students who enjoyed another year of excellent A-Level results.

The results by every metric increased from last year and the percentage of students who attained A*-B grades has risen by a third.

The vast majority of the students have accepted courses at their first-choice university.

There are several success stories from the Year 13 students at Newent Sixth Form this year, including Tilly, who got an A* in Psychology to go alongside an A grade in both Biology and Mathematics.

She has been accepted onto her chosen course in Primary Education at Leeds Beckett University.

Meanwhile, artist Daisy got an A* in Graphics, an A in Photography and a B in Fine Art and will be reading Graphic Design at the University for the Creative Arts.

Sixth Form director Ian McCarthy said: "We are exceptionally proud of the results achieved by all our Year 13 students as they move onto the next stage of their life.

'It has been an honour to see how each student has grown throughout their time in the Sixth Form at Newent Community School and they have been excellent ambassadors for our younger students.

'We are certain that they will all continue to achieve great success in their next steps, and we look forward to celebrating this in years to come."

Principal Dawn Burke added: "Our Sixth Form is a special place, where each student is known' and supported.

"We must congratulate all our students on not just their results but also how they have worked together, developing strength and resilience over their time with us.

"Some have had challenges and their support of each other has been exemplary.

"They have truly upheld our school's values of honesty, excellence, accountability, respect and teamwork."
