A DRIVER captured speeding on the motorway by an automatic camera device has been banned from driving for 'repeat offending' and fined by a court.

Danut-dumitru Bogdan was speeding on the M5 southbound between junctions 4a (Catshill) and 5 (Droitwich), leading to not only a driving ban but a bill of more than £900.

The case was heard at Worcester Magistrates Court on Wednesday, July 24 when Bogdan, 51, of  Dolphin Lane, Birmingham, was fined after he exceeded a variable speed limit on August 30 last year.  Bogdan was behind the wheel of a Skoda when he broke the temporary 60mph speed limit.

A guilty plea was entered via the single justice procedure on March 21.

He was fined £256, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £542 and costs of £110.

A collection order made, giving the court extra powers to recover the money.

Bogdan was also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for nine months.
