Newent Fun Day is taking place on Saturday September 14 from 12pm-5pm.
The idea for a fun day stemmed from a small group of local people of Newent that wanted to promote the town, it's businesses and it's people.
From there the idea grew and a committee formed, over the past few months the committee have met bi-weekly and formed a plan of action for an event and Newent Fun Day was formed.
James Haines, committee member said: "The event will be held across our wonderful town, therefore enticing people to walk past our shops and get involved in many different activities and speak with many different people who run businesses and clubs in and around our town.
"Our Town Council have been brilliant in working with our committee and have aloud us to use the lake around within the town and have also agreed to the Lewell Street car park to be free on the day."
