A 58-year-old grandmother has revealed her delight after dropping seven stone in just 13 months.
Deb Sewell weighed 17 stone and six pounds when she began attending weekly meetings at the Claines branch of Lee's Slimming World - Worcester in January 2023.
Despite an initial weight loss target of four stone, Deb had dropped to 10 stone and 6 pounds by February this year.
"I had joined Slimming World three or four times before, but I had always lost weight, and then had a bad week and put it back on and it's a bit of a cycle really.
"I had got to the end of my tether. I was 56 and had no energy, or clothes to fit me, and then I got a text message from Lee who took over at Claines and he said 'come and join us' - so I did."
Lee Griffiths, who runs four Slimming World groups across Worcester and Malvern, said: "Deb's achievement goes to show that if you commit to changing how you shop, cook, and eat, you can make a change.
"Deb's success is all down to her 100% commitment, and now she inspires others in the group."
By September 2023, Deb had already lost around five stone.
She added: "I had set myself mini targets of half a stone per month, and I just smashed it. I was so focused, and Lee's a wonderful consultant.
"My biggest problem had been alcohol, because I used to drink about a bottle of wine a night.
"So every time I lost half a stone, I enjoyed a bottle of wine - it was quite the incentive."
Alongside reducing her alcohol intake and adapting her diet, Deb took part in her group's Race for Life event and began aerial hoop classes alongside her daughter Gemma.
Deb, who lives in Bromyard with her husband Sean, added: "Gemma said why don't you come along, and I did it for a laugh at first, but I really enjoyed it.
"Because my confidence level is complete different, I thought 'I can do this', and i've even started bungee fitness since then too."
