A LEDBURY landscaper said he is over the moon after being named the best in Herefordshire. 

Tim Ward has been named the best Landscaper in Herefordshire at the SME business awards. 

Mr Ward has been a landscaper for the past 16 years and works in and around Ledbury. 

His firm, Wards Gardens, was nominated for the landscaper of the year gong.

From there he had to fill out a questionnaire describing the services they provide and why they deserved to win the award.

Judges at the business awards also judged Mr Ward's firm for the quality of its previous work and its website. 

Mr Ward told the Reporter: "We won an award like this a few years back and we were thrilled to be able to do it again. 

"We were over the moon when we found out we had won, it's always great to be acknowledged for the work you have done.

"Business has been booming recently with all the great weather, it's been manic, so this award is another great reason to celebrate."

Wards Gardens offers a range of landscaping services including hedge and grass cutting, installing paving and driveways and garden design and maintenance. 

Mr Ward is currently one of two members of staff at his company, but in light of recent success, they are looking to expand. 

And Mr Ward added he will be looking to win awards further afield in the future.

"We have a lot of credibility now and people appreciate what we do, so we are in the middle of growing the business.

"We understand how important it is to have an outside space that you can really enjoy and be proud of.

"Its jobs include weekly visits to large estates and gardens as well as one-off jobs. 

"I am looking forward to what we can achieve in the future."

The SME business awards have been running for eight years and look to celebrate the success of small to medium-sized enterprises across the country. 

Small and medium enterprises are businesses which have 250 employees or less.
