A new LGBTQIA+ Social Group will be launched in Ledbury.
The initiative by Age UK Herefordshire and Worcestershire (H&W) will kick off on June 5 at this year’s pride month with the support of Ledbury Rugby Football Club.
The group will provide a safe, friendly, and welcoming space in the local community.
This follows the success of the Gay Women's Group in Malvern.
Jenny, a lead volunteer, said: "We are wanting to create a relaxed, informal, non-judgemental environment, bringing people together over a cuppa for two hours, once a month.
"Eventually, there will be an opportunity for the group to organise activity days and places to visit, to combat loneliness and create new social opportunities."
The group aspires to become a crucial hub for the LGBTQIA+ community in Ledbury and surrounding areas, offering a regular space for members to gather, share experiences, and build memories.
Known for its strong community spirit, Ledbury Rugby Club is the ideal venue for these gatherings.
For a £1 donation towards the rugby club, attendees will be treated to refreshments, fostering a homely atmosphere.
Those interested should mark their calendars for the first Wednesday of every month from 12pm to 2pm, beginning June 5.
