THE price of a Herefordshire Morrisons shop has been cut after it was put up for sale earlier this year.

More commonly known as "Top Shop" by locals, the Bromyard Morrisons Daily shop originally went on the market with agents Graham Sibbald for offers over £500,000.

The price has now been cut to offers over £475,000, with the shop still on the market.

But locals looking for an alternative to the town's two Co-op shops need not worry, as while the building is up for sale, Morrisons looks to be there to stay.

The agents said the building, which is in a "prominent roadside location" just off the A44, is currently let to Alliance Property Holdings Ltd, trading as Morrisons, on a 10-year lease at £32,000 per annum.

Prior to becoming a Morrisons Daily, the shop was a McColl's branch, with a Subway sandwich concession to the rear.

Subway moved out of the town shortly before the shop rebranded to become a Morrisons in August 2021.

The agents said the modern single-story building offers a "well-configured retail unit" on a 0.23 acre site, and backs on to a residential property.

The buildings are of cavity brick construction under pitched tiled roofs, with the larger building offering a larger sales area and small storage area for frozen and chilled goods.
