Ledbury Tennis Club encourages juniors to give tennis a go.
Ledbury Tennis Club has overhauled its junior membership programme, opening up the possibility for youngsters under the age of 18 to play against others in their own age group at weekends.
The club is trialling dedicated junior social tennis sessions, between 9 and 10 a.m. on Saturday mornings (ages 11 and under) and on Sunday mornings (ages 11 and over) These sessions will initially run throughout April and May and will be extended if there is sufficient interest.
Junior membership offers astonishing value at just £15 for a whole year. This includes every day access to courts up until 6 p.m. as well as the new weekend social sessions.
Members can also benefit from discounts on optional junior coaching, with the popular Friday afternoon and evening sessions starting again from April 12th. These are segmented into 3 age bands from ages 4 to 16. Qualified coaches from Malvern Tennis Academy supervise these after-school sessions, which cost £124 for members (£136 for non-members) for a 12 week course.
Ledbury Tennis Club Membership Secretary, John Admans, said “We want to encourage even more young people, by giving them the opportunity to try a sport they can enjoy for life, in a supportive and family-friendly environment at a bargain price.”
Junior members aged under age 13 must always be accompanied by a responsible adult. Parents or guardians are welcome to use the clubhouse facilities whilst their children are on court, or they can join in themselves, if they are also members.
Of course it’s not all for kids - the friendly Ledbury club offers a range of adult memberships, none of which costs more than the equivalent of £3 per week paid annually.
Ledbury Tennis Club enjoys three floodlit artificial-grass courts and a well appointed clubhouse, in a scenic countryside location on the edge of town. The club aims to provide a sporting and sociable tennis experience for people of all ages and abilities.
Run by its members for its members, Ledbury Tennis Club is keen to encourage new members both young and old and everything in between.
