Nine year-old Ledbury Primary School student, Isabelle, had the honour of officially launching the showhomes at The Arches at Ledbury.
Isabelle triumphed in a design competition, providing the inspiration for a bedroom in a new four-bedroom Verwood showhome, decorated by Claude Hooper Interiors.
Her design prompted a pastel, nature-inspired space, boasting a wall mural based on Isabelle's drawing of a rainbow chameleon, along with rainbow décor and a bean bag bed for a feline friend.
Bloor Homes and Claude Hooper Interiors were welcomed to an assembly at Ledbury Primary School before Christmas, briefing the students on how to enter and what they were looking for in a design.
Participants were encouraged to let their creativity shine and Isabelle's colourful idea caught the attention of the judges, including Claude Hooper Interior's Carrie and Bloor Homes' Sales Team.
Sally Holt, regional senior sales manager for Bloor Homes, said: "We were very impressed by the significant effort put into all of the entries we received, from Harry Potter inspired drawings to 3D models, but Isabelle’s vibrant room design was lovely and bright, and the pops of colour blended perfectly with the rest of the showhome’s interior scheme."
The Verwood is not the only showhome at The Arches.
Two more exhibits showcasing two and three-bedroom homes are also up for public viewing.
Other features in these residences include energy efficient adaptations like solar panels, electric vehicle chargers, and a higher insulation specification.
Sales director for Bloor Homes’ Western region, Steve Garton, said: "It’s great to welcome Isabelle to open the showhomes as our local winner, but that’s not all.
"The team at Claude Hooper interiors has been busy sourcing selected pieces included in the showhomes from Ledbury’s lovely high street shops and local brands, making these our most ‘locally inspired’ showhomes yet!"
“Not only are we extremely proud to be bringing our most energy efficient and reduced carbon footprint homes to Ledbury, we will link the development to the town via a further footpath to the Town Trail which will enable people to walk, cycle - or scoot – into town, completely car and traffic free.”
