THE beautiful village of Ashperton is the focus of Nostalgia section this week.
Ashperton stands on an old Roman way between the Hereford/Worcester and Hereford/Ledbury roads.
It is now the main Gloucester/Leominster route and although the modern road goes through Canon Frome and Stretton Grandison, it deviates somewhat from the original. The histories of these three villages are very much entwined.
These images are all taken with permission from the Facebook group Hereford Herefordshire Remembered.
The village information is taken from The Herefordshire Village Book, written by members of the Herefordshire Federation of Women's Institutes and published by Countryside Books.
If you have any old photographs of Ledbury or the surrounding district please email them to matthew.holmes@newsquest.co.uk
