HAVE you checked out Ledbury Heritage Centre recently?
You have the chance to drop in on March 23 for tea and cakes before the official opening on March 29.
The Heritage Centre in Ledbury will be opening this year on Friday March 29. Thereafter, they will open every Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday until the end of October.
The Heritage Centre was built at the end of the 15th century.
The very atmospheric building has had many different uses from its beginnings when it was built in 1490.
It became a Latin Grammar School in the 26th century then accommodation for 5 families in the 19th and 20th centuries and finally was renovated to become the Heritage Centre as we know it today, by Malvern Hills District Council and opened to the public in 1978.
On Saturday March 23 everybody is invited to drop in between 10.00 and 1.00 when they will be offering tea, cakes and coffee to all our visitors. If you haven’t been inside for a while, you will notice many changes and additions.
Sally Holiday of the Heritage Centre said: "If you live locally, make sure that any visitors you have in 2024 have the chance to visit our wonderful building.
"Our volunteers provide an important part of the experience. If you feel that you might be able to give a couple of hours of your time, please ring 01531 633637. Every year all our visitors are greeted by a friendly, welcoming volunteer. This year, could one of them, be you?"
