AN overflowing sink caused the fire service to be sent to a Herefordshire flat.
The smoke detector was activated at the property in New Street, Ledbury, just after 3.40am yesterday (February 25).
A spokesperson for Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) said: "The crew gained access and discovered that the alarm had activated due to water ingress from an overflowing sink in an upstairs flat. Crews dried out the water ingress.

"There were no casualties and no other emergency services were required.
"The incident was marked as pending closure at 4:56am."
Meanwhile two fire crews were called to a smell of burning at a house in Westholme Road, Hereford shortly after 9.15pm on Saturday (February 24).
The HWFRS spokesperson said " An investigation was carried out using a thermal imaging camera and a gas monitor but there was no sign of fire with fumes coming from a tumble dryer.
"There were no casualties and no other emergency services attended. The incident was marked as pending closure at 9:54pm."
