FLOOD alerts remain in force in Herefordshire as half-term starts this morning, with plenty of water still around in the county.
Roads across the county were closed last week as yet more flooding hit Herefordshire, with a flood warning issued for the river Wye and flood alerts issued for several other county rivers.
Two flood alerts remain in force for Herefordshire this morning. They are for the river Wye in Herefordshire and the river Lugg south of Leominster.
Flood alerts
River Wye
River levels are falling at Old Wye Bridge river gauge following heavy rainfall.
Flooding is expected to affect low-lying land and roads along the Wye from Hay on Wye to Ross on Wye. Other locations that may be affected include Byford, Bredwardine and Hereford.

Ross on Wye: 4.28m Saturday evening

River Lugg
River levels are high but steady at the Lugwardine river gauge. Flooding is expected to affect low-lying land and roads adjacent to the Lugg south of Leominster from Stoke Prior to Mordiford. Other locations that may be affected include Bodenham, Lugwardine and Hampton Bishop.
Flood warning removed
A flood warning for the river Wye from Hereford to Ross-on-Wye and a flood alert for the river Leadon catchment have both been removed in the last 24 hours.
