DID you know Ledbury is twinned with the Swedish town Strömstad?
The two towns have a long and warm association which has been going strong for many years.
The Ledbury and Strömstad Twinning Association stages various events throughout the year and always take part in community events such as the carnival.
There is a Swedish saying - Fika - which means meeting up with friends for a coffee and a chat.
The Twinning Association is staging a Fika In Ledbury to enable towns folk to learn more about their Swedish counterparts in the lovely setting of the Talbot Hotel.
It is a great opportunity to find out more about the Swedish town and life over in Sweden.
You will be able to ask as many questions as you like from representatives of the twinning association.
‘The Mayor of Ledbury, Councillor Helen I’Anson and the Ledbury & Strömstad Twinning Association are holding a Swedish themed coffee morning on Saturday 23 September 2023, 10.30 am – 12.00 noon at The Talbot Hotel.
This is being kindly funded by the Talbot Hotel which is the home of ‘Little Strömstad’.
There will be information about the Twinning and Strömstad, together with lots of photographs and artefacts.
If you would like to know more about Ledbury’s special friendship with Strömstad and plans for the future this is an opportunity to find out.
There will also be a Swedish themed raffle in support of the Mayor’s Charities, Megan Baker House and Close House and the Twinning Association.
A big thank you is due to Richard, Manager at The Talbot Hotel, for all of your support and Layne, Chef, for all of the Swedish cakes and savouries’.
