A stone trough being stolen from a churchyard led to a family making a donation to the Royal British Legion.
On visiting the family grave of a young soldier, Gunner Geoffrey Ince, it was discovered that the stone trough of flowers recently placed there had been stolen.
Shaun Badham replaced the trough and it was mentioned to Mark Smith of Colwall Royal British Legion, who passed the information onto the committee.
The committee decided to give a donation to the family for the loss of the trough.
They were invited to the Legion to accept the donation, which was then returned with a sum matching the donation to give to the Young Soldiers’ Fund.
“The Legion does fantastic work for the community,” said Debbie Harford, “and the whole family is pleased to give a little back.”
