Ledbury Rugby Football Club has been in existence since 1883 and over the last 20 years has grown into so much more.
From one men’s team that played on a patch of grass behind the Full Pitcher pub they now own the Ross Road site which incorporates a Clubhouse, the Pavilion Rooms large function room (200) and covered Ledshed (100), 5 full size rugby pitches, 3 full size football pitches, 8 changing rooms, an outdoor play area, walking netball pitch and large car park, all on a 32 acre site.
They have now truly evolved into being Ledbury’s largest Community Hub and sports centre.
Recent success on the playing field has seen Ledbury Colts winning the North Midlands Stan Whitfield Cup for the first time and the 1st XV winning the NM Shield, after topping their league and gaining promotion in season 21-22.
Ledbury has also provided this season the largest number of players from one club to the NM and Hereford & Worcester County Colts squads.
Never has it been so crucial that, in order to support the infrastructure to sustain their efforts, they foster and maintain long term sponsorship relationships within the local business community.
LRFC currently provides facilities for the following:
12 Junior rugby teams from 5 years to 18.
10 Junior football teams (Ledbury Swifts)

However, sport and fitness is only part of what they offer at our community hub. In addition to the above we also host the following:

Folk music night, monthly
Annual community Family Fun Day
LRFC has engaged from the outset in the national HAF programme as part of the government backed Marcus Rashford initiative, offering children who qualify for free school meals somewhere safe to go to during the holidays to undertake supervised play activities and crafts, with a hot meal included. All provided by Ledbury RFC and our volunteers.
They provide free rugby coaching to John Masefield High School and various local primary schools as part of their outreach.
With a highly successful commercial operation all the monies that Ledbury Rugby Club generates from private and corporate events, such as conferences, weddings, funerals, parties etc goes straight back into the club to fund costs and the daily running of the site. And much of this work is carried out by an ever willing group of around 120 volunteers.
