A Ledbury pub that has been closed for months is looking for a new manager.
The Full Pitcher in New Street shut earlier this year after the previous landlords left for personal reasons.
Pub group Stonegate had been looking for a new tenant and had advertised the opportunity on its website, saying it had a potential turnover of £561,000.
It now says work has started inside the pub and it is hoping it will reopen soon.
A spokesperson for Stonegate said: “A new tenant has taken over the Full Pitcher and is recruiting a general manager to lead the day-to-day operations at the pub.
“Some internal improvements have taken place and we look to reopen as soon as possible.”
The Hereford Times reported in July that couple Shaun Bartley and Sophie Knight were taking on the pub, but Stonegate weren’t able to confirm the identity of the new tenant.
The listing on Stonegate’s website describes the Full Pitcher as having a well-equipped commercial kitchen.
The pub also has a large beer garden and children’s play area.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated publican with a passion for great customer service and great food,” said a spokesperson.
“Ideally, the new publican will have experience of operating a large catering site and will need to have a strong front of house ‘host’ presence to grow the local bar trade again, whilst balancing this with a busy food-led retail environment.”
A year ago, we reported how roadworks on the nearby A449 and Full Pitcher roundabout had been affecting trade at the pub.
Then-landlady Lynn Aust said the roadworks had caused chaos and were reducing the amount of trade the pub received from passing traffic, which was a usually a major boost during the summer.
Work continues on several new housing developments in the area, including a scheme to build 93 affordable homes being built on the former cricket pitch behind the Full Pitcher.
