LEDBURY Carnival is fast approaching and plans are well in hand for this year’s fun day.
The Carnival will have been a part of Ledbury life for 50 years next years meaning it will be a golden carnival in 2024 and organisers are already fund raising for the big event.
But there is still time to contribute to this year’s carnival on August 28.
Janet Meredith, Carnival organiser explained what is going on:
“With prices rising so fast there is very little you can buy for less than a £1.
“A bottle of fizzy drink from the supermarket or a takeaway coffee, or a burger and fries for the kids from a well known burger place or even a sausage roll from a well known High Street store as you have a snack on your way to work.
“You can buy a Raffle Ticket for the Carnival to help towards the cost of our 50th Carnival in 2024 with the chance to win a £100 cash prize, a meal for 4 at a local restaurant, a massage or one of many other prizes.
“If every family who have enjoyed past carnivals or are looking forward to a free afternoon out with a colourful parade ,live music, entertainment and the chance to see 2 shire horses pulling their carriage through the High Street.
£A free Magician and disco in the car park and several entertainers around town for the youngsters to enjoy.
“With many other attractions buying just one ticket for a £1 will be a step towards our ‘Golden Carnival’ next year.
“Tickets will be on sale by the Market House beginning this Saturday August 5, and every Saturday until Carnival Day (28th August) so why not come down and buy one. As they say, You have to be in it to win it.
Cost of Carnival is currently approaching £16000 to stage can only continue with the support of the town. Where else locally can you have so much fun for so little ??
