LADS presents Humble Boy by Charlotte Jones on June 15-17 at 7:30pm.
An emotionally charged comedy that explores themes of family, friendship, love, loss, and even the behaviour of bees - and the nature of flowers.
It was originally performed at the National Theatre in 2001.
Returning home for his father’s funeral, Felix discovers his mother, Flora, is already having an affair with George, the father of Felix’s childhood sweetheart.
Overwhelmed by the loss of his father, Felix wanders through a long summer, trying to make sense of his acerbic mother’s behaviour.
Whilst attempting to ignore her lover, he rediscovers a lost love of his own, and finds meaning and relevance from the theoretical physics theories he has spent long years researching.
An intriguing story of a family and those orbiting their lives, that evolves over the summer months to reveal drastically changing relationships and a surprising conclusion.
