Ledbury Methodists spent the bank holiday litter picking and helping get the town’s coronation celebrations underway.
A hardy bunch of litter-pickers took to the Homend and surrounding areas, armed with purple plastic bags, and collected an assorted range of cigarette butts, sweet wrappers, bottle tops and more.
“Now that we've got our Eco-church Silver Award we're determined to keep working towards our Gold, so we've been doing this regularly,” said Gillian Chowns, who chairs Ledbury Methodist's Eco-church group.
“Although the weather was wet, our spirits weren't dampened, as it was rather pleasant to litter-pick to the sound of the peal of the St Michael's church bells.”
Another group of Methodists were busy volunteering with the Town Council, assembling the gazebos, putting out the chairs, and turning their hands to whatever was needed.
Later on, some of them turned into choristers and as part of Ledbury Community Choir they entertained the growing crowds who had gathered by the Market House to enjoy the day's entertainment.
