Ledbury celebrated the King’s coronation with street parties, live music and family fun.

The town’s celebrations centred around the High Street on Monday, May 8, with wet weather unable to dampen the spirits of revellers.

Ledbury’s soon-to-retire Carnival Princess Evie and attendants Mila, Lily-Mae and Florence helped Ledbury Mayor Phillip Howells open the street celebrations in town.

The girls, who have had a fantastic year, will hand over the reins to their successors

on May 20, when this year’s Prince or Princess will be crowned.

So Xsighted Morris Dancers, Ledbury Community Choir, a dog show and Ledbury Brass Band all provided entertainment on the day.

Residents of Pound Close and Pound Meadow were among the groups to organise their own celebrations.

Gazebos, brollies and waterproofs were the order of the day alongside bunting and flags.

Residents were delighted that ‘King Charles III’ and ‘Queen Camilla’ (David and Jenny) took time out from their busy schedule to meet them and cut a celebratory cake.

The ‘Royal Couple’ were toasted with Prosecco and enthusiastic cheering.

Ledbury Carnival Princess Evie and her attendants made their second appearance of the day and helped hand out cake to residents.

There was also one canine guest, Trent, who was sporting a rosette after being awarded the ‘Best Dressed Dog’ title at the dog show in town earlier in the day.
