A popular mud race will return to one of the county’s most iconic venues.
Eastnor Castle, near Ledbury, will once again host the Mud Bath.
Hundreds of daring runners took part in the challenge last year and organisers Relish Running are expecting to see a similar turnout this time round.
Coach Tom Room said: “Relish Running are excited to see everyone at their annual Mud Bath event which is taking place on Sunday the 7th of May at Eastnor Castle.
“We had 800 runners take part last year and we are looking to match that this year.
“Places are filling up fast, to guarantee your place make sure you sign up soon and before advanced bookings close.”
2022 Mud Bath: Muddy brilliant at Eastnor
Mud Bath will have events for participants of all ages, with a 3km, 6km, and 10km race.
The routes are all along the Land Rover experience test tracks, which is usually occupied by visitors putting the car company’s vehicles through their paces as they navigate steep inclines, descents, muddy side slopes, streams and rock crawls.
The test track is a private area of the Eastnor estate, which is only open to the public for this special Mud Bath event.
Mr Room added: “Just as with all the Relish events, you don't need to be particularly fit or fast to take part, in fact, this year's route is overall downhill, a rare treat, and makes it perfect for new and experienced runners alike!
“The draw of this event is about playing around in the mud and having loads of fun, rather than looking to record a fast time.
“You can expect lots of long water obstacles, lots of sticky mud as well as a final lake crossing to wash off all the mud before your journey home.”
All finishers will take home a large medal and enjoy a buffet of tasty treats to restore them after their efforts.
Sign-up for the event closes at 9am on Monday, May 1.
The race itself takes place on Sunday, May 9, with the first event starting at 10am.
