A Ledbury pub is launching a new Caribbean bar area.
The Oak Inn at Staplow is officially opening its Reggae Tiki Bar on Good Friday and has other events planned over the coming weeks.
Landlord Chris Howells said the new bar sits on the pub’s enclosed patio area, which has a log fire and patio heater.
“This is certain to be a very popular venue and add value to what is already a very busy pub,” he said.
“The Carribean theme will remain all spring and summer with classic reggae music playlists.
£Our executive Head Chef Jason Henderson is creating exciting Carribean dishes, plus Team Oak will be serving Red Stripe Jamacian Beer, themed cocktails and a variety of rums including ‘Tiki Fire’.”
Patrons can reserve a table for drinks or food, or hire the whole venue for a private party of up to 30 people; free of charge.
“The future plan is to open up the patio then book various reggae artists in our large beer garden,” said Chris.
“Despite the cost of living and energy increases, the business remains very buoyant and popular.
“Since Covid we have learnt to accept change, constantly seeking continuous improvement by adapting the business to meet our customers expectations.”
Other events planned include live music on St George’s Day on Sunday, April 23, featuring local band Lazy Communications and street food vendors Food Genie and Chock Shop.
The Oak will be celebrating the coronation of King Charles III on Saturday, May 6 by screening the ceremony live from 11am.
The pub will be partying with the theme of Crowns & Tiaras and will serve what it is calling ‘The Kings of British Beers’ - Old Speckled Hen, Timothy Taylors Landlord, Bathams Best Bitter and Reverend James.
At 4pm, the 'Malvern Delta Blues Band will be playing a variety of British blues and rock classics.
On Sunday, June 7, at 7pm, the Oak will host its monthly charity quiz night with a coronation theme.
