It’s only fitting that a town famous around the world for its poetry festival should celebrate World Book Day in a big way.
Ledbury did exactly that at the weekend, with a day of book-inspired activities taking place around the town.
On Saturday (March 4), children’s favourites Bluey, Paddington and Mr Brown could be found around Ledbury and were only too happy to pose for photos.

Ledbury Library Development Group and Red Earth Arts helped families get stuck into some World Book Day crafts at the Burgage Hall while Busy Bees held a Very Hungry Caterpillar sensory class.
Ledbury Town Council, which co-ordinated the day’s events, put on James and the Giant Peach-themed activities at the Recreation Ground and invited visitors to help create a knot garden at the council offices.
Co-op Funeral Care offered free face painting and the Brothers McLeod put on a knight workshop at the library.
Visitors to Ledbury’s Charter Market were invited to take part in a readathon and could also meet authors Alan Frost and Sheila Allen.
