The court heard from Crown Prosecution Service prosecutor Eleanor Peart that the 19-year-old had assaulted a man by beating him in Allensmore, Herefordshire, on June 5 last year.
Haines, who is of Dalesbred Avenue in Kingstone, Herefordshire, was handed a 12-month community order and ordered to complete 100 hours of unpaid work for the offence, with magistrates saying they had taken his guilty plea into account when deciding on the penalty.
He was also ordered to pay compensation of £100 to the victim, and prosecution costs of £135.
