IT has been wonderful year for the Ledbury Repair Café mending hundreds of items and having a jolly good time doing so.
The Repair Cafe is now an established community resource for the community taking in goods in need of repair and giving them a new lease of life.
However that is not all and it has become a vital community asset providing a place for people to come together and chat over a cup of tea.
David Murdoch of the Repair Café said: “Fixing all manner of household goods in return for cash donations has developed into a really sociable community event.
“The conversation flows as freely as the tea, coffee and cake while your items are being fixed.
“Repair is the ultimate form of recycling, which not only saves planetary resources, but saves you money too, by not having to buy a new item, if your existing one can be mended.”
He said there were 10 events held in 2022 and over 400 items repaired in the sessions.
“The public absolutely love it – it is a valued community resource.
“People come in and have good chat with some tea and cake so it is a social events as much as anything.”
The next Repair Café takes place on Saturday, February 4, and bookings are being taken from January 8.
