A HOSPITAL boss has apologised after junior doctors experienced delays in being paid.
Matthew Hopkins, the chief executive of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust, said they had acted to fix the issue as soon as it was highlighted to them.
The chief executive of Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust also responded to a tweet about the issue in which it was called "unacceptable".

In his tweet Mr Hopkins said: "It sounds absolutely awful and would encourage any of our trainee doctors that haven't been paid to email me."

We approached the trust for comment and Mr Hopkins provided this statement: “We were made aware of an issue for a small proportion of our junior doctors who have experienced a delay in being paid this month.
"As soon as this issue was identified steps were taken with our payroll provider to rectify this.
“We have contacted all the junior doctors affected by this error to apologise for the stress and inconvenience this caused.
"Our junior doctors play an vital role in the running our hospitals and work incredibly hard to ensure our patients receive the best experience of care from the best people.”
