A rottweiler escaped from a Ledbury garden and bit another dog before being caught, police have confirmed.
The rottweiler, which has recently been rehoused in Ledbury, approached several dogs and their owners in Childer Road on Monday (May 23).
“A dog was bitten, causing a slight cut, but at no point did it bite any people,” said a spokesperson for West Mercia Police.
“The rottweiler was later located at the vets in Ledbury and secured. The owner of the bitten dog contacted police to report this but didn’t support any formal action.
“Another resident in Childer road said in her view the rottweiler was trying to play with the other dogs but was a bit rough.”
Police said the rottweiler was returned to its owner, who was offered advice on how to prevent future incidents.
