HEREFORDSHIRE'S most oversubscribed schools have been revealed in new data.
Herefordshire Council made 1,680 offers of places in primary schools in 2020, with 1,608 getting their first choice of school, 55, getting their second choice, and four getting their third choice.
The remaining 13 children whose parents' preferences could not be met were offered a place in the nearest school to their home with available spaces.
A total of 1,763 secondary school offers were made that year, with 1,609 offered their first choice, 107 offered their second, and 16 offered a place at their third choice of school.
The remaining 31 places offered, were to parents whose preferences could not be met and their offer was for the nearest school to their home address with available spaces.
And, the figures show, some schools were vastly more popular than others.
Topping the table for primary schools is Hampton Dene Primary in Hereford, which had 46 more pupils than it had capacity for, with a total of 256 pupils on roll.
