HEREFORDSHIRE Council finally caught up with public opinion by recalling its education review, claims Adrian Long, headteacher at Bromyard's Queen Elizabeth Hum-anities College.
"I would echo (council leader) Roger Phillips in querying the statistics, the time frame and the lack of consultation and work with the local community," he said.
"It was something that was voiced by many people before the withdrawal and it looks like the council has now caught up with public opinion. The haste with which this has happened speaks for itself."
Mr Long hopes schools and the council can now work together to find a more positive way forward.
"We are not against change and there is still the opportunity to work together and look for a positive way forward," he said.
"It is important that people don't become complacent and think that this is all over and done with. Inevitably something will come back and let's hope that this time it's the product of a dialogue between all those concerned."
With the deadline for school applications approaching, Mr Long called on parents to stick with the choice they had already made before the review became public.
