LEDBURY and District Civic Society are holding their monthly talk on Friday (November 26) on the development of the British brewery.
Society trustee Mary Winfield said: “In a town blessed with numerous historic drinking-places, it should provide us with an historic background to their existence and continuing popularity.”
The talk, to be given by local historian Gareth Davies, starts at 7.30pm in the Burgage Hall on Church Lane.
“Visitors are very welcome to join us”, said Mrs Winfield, “just don’t expect to consume any samples!”
The society was founded in 1973 and has more than 400 members. As well as the Burgage Hall, it also runs the town’s Butcher Row House Museum. To find out more, visit ledburycivicsociety.org.
