BROMYARD and District Local History Society is preparing to shed some light on the Dark Ages with a talk next week.
Anthony Pulton-Smith will be taking a closer look at the Saxon Era and explaining why they were anything but ‘dark’ — giving us a language, system of government, imperial measurements and more.
The event at the Conquest Theatre starts at 7.30pm on Wednesday (November 10). It is free for society members and £5 for guests.
The society was founded in 1966 and runs a programme of events throughout the year. Its Local and Family History Centre on Sherford Street was purchased in 1999 and opened for public use in 2003. It is currently open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
